Light Ensemble, in the newly-built CIT Cork School of Music, won a ‘Business2Arts’ award in 2008. This suite of three large site-specific pieces – painting, plaster-relief and mixed-media sculpture respectively – is a sculptural homage to architecture, music and time. Each of the three constitutive elements enable the ways in which light falls within the building's atria to become visibly ‘substantial’. The painting and the plasterwork exactly match the fall of light within the buildings on specific days in the calendar year.
